World Oyster Festival 2017

The Fifth Annual World Oyster Festival is happening at Greenwood Fish Market & Bistro from 1st July to 31st July 2017. Oysters lover can now visit the restaurant to try 20 over varieties of oysters such as Barron Point, Belon "OOO" and Brittany Special. Prices of oysters range from $4 to $8 and there is a minimum order of 2 oysters. Larger groups visiting can order the Chef's Selection Platter of 16 pieces at $99.

Belon "OOO" ($8)

Fresh oysters from France. By the waiter's recommendation, we chose the most succulent and juicy oyster that comes a "hazelnut" aftertaste. As expected, the quality of oysters are much better than what you find in normal restaurants.

Angus Burger ($21.95)

Minced Angus beef patty with homemade Brioche buns. Packed with Portobello mushrooms, Gherkins & Caramelized onions. It came as a surprise to me that this restaurant which specialize in seafood can serve such great beef burgers. One can top up another $3.50 to upgrade to truffle fries.

Fish and Chips

The whole point of coming down to Greenwood Fish Market & Bistro, is to try out their specialty fish & chips. The fish & chips comes in a few different tiers, each associated with the quality of the fish:

• House Fish & Chips ($19.95)

• Fresh Fish Quality 1 ($24.95)

• Fresh Fish Quality 2 ($27.95)

• Trawler Catch ($29.95)

• Premium Trawler Catch ($32.95)

All come with the choice of pan seared, baked, steamed, char grilled, battered or crumbed for the fish, and served with salad and fries. We chose the Tusk Fish "Parrot Fish" from fresh fish quality 1. The fish's texture turns out to be harder than I thought, but it was still very fresh and tasty.

Interestingly, they have a market right beside the restaurant which also serves cold dishes. Definitely will come back and try out other fishes!
