Top five foods from Geylang Serai Bazaar 2017

The Annual Geylang Serai Bazaar is back! It's that time of the year when we indulge in sinful snacks in one of the biggest Pasar Malam in Singapore. The bazaar will only last from 26 May to 24 June, so do head down before it's gone!

Here's a list of our favorites:

1. Chicken Scotch Eggs from Loco Loco ($5.00)

Two halves of an egg, enclosed in chicken minced meat, packed with a box of Keropok and topped with Peking duck sauce.

2. The Raclette Set ($12.00)

Blow-torched Raclette Cheese melting on gourmet chicken sausage, complete with pan seared baby potato. Although price is on the high side, the rich and creamy cheese makes up for it!

3. Ramly Beef Burger ($4.00)

Classic Ramly Burger comes with beef patty and egg. Not as good as what you can get in Malaysia but still decent.

4. The Handsome Burger ($8.00)

Colourful burger with thick and juicy beef patty, a sight for sore eyes. It comes with crunchy and tasty fries to munch away while you enjoy the rest of the burger.

5. Watermelon Volcano ($6.90)

Shaved ice with watermelon, condensed milk inside a watermelon husk! Order the small one as it is quite big, good for 2 to 3 pax. A great way to cool down as the place is really hot and stuffy.

Final thoughts

The Geylang Serai Bazaar has a wide variety of food to try, Thai, Malay, Chinese, Western, Mediterranean. To fully enjoy your time there, do come during off-peak hours (before sun sets) so as to avoid the queue. As most stalls only open after 3pm, the optimal period of time to visit is short. So make full use of your time by planning beforehand which stalls to try!
