A Restaurant & Microbrewery in the Most Unusual Place

PocoLoco Microbrewery is a restaurant and microbrewery which serves authentic Italian cuisine and craft beers. Located at the second level of Snow City, it is the least expected place to find a restaurant.

PocoLoco has seating both inside and outside of the restaurant. Surprisingly, the interior space is bigger than expected.

When we requested a change of seat due to poor lighting conditions, the waiter did not hesitate to move us to a different seat. Moreover, he was very patient with us while we were taking photos of the food. Thus, we were pleased by the friendliness and customer-oriented attitude of the staff.

First up for appetizer is the Burrata cheese, topped with rocket salad tomato & parma ham ($16++). The cheese has a very creamy texture, making it a delight for cheese-lovers.

Next for pasta we had the Manzo, which is beef spaghetti pasta with truffle cream sauce ($12++). The beef is well-done and tasted very chewy and delicious. For a truffle dish that only cost $12, it is definitely a must-try in this restaurant.

We decided to go with the special menu for our main, which is the Pork Collar served with Balsamic Reduction ($22++). Amazing, is the only word to describe this dish. The tenderness of the pork, combined with the sweetness and sourness of the balsamic vinegar, makes this overall my favorite dish here.

As we were not full yet, we decided to go with another main dish, the Fegato d’oca. Risotto with foie gras ($15++). The freshness of the ingredient is guaranteed as the foie gras disintegrates in our mouth.

For desserts we had another specialty menu. Matcha Lava Cake with Vanilla Gelato ($10++). I am so glad that we chose this dessert. Just the sight of the matcha oozing out of the cake melts my heart.

They have a few selection of craft beers as well. We bought the Verde (Green) ($7++), Dunkel (Dark) ($8++) and the Lager Birra ($8++). My favorite is the Dunkel beer which has a very rich malty taste.

Pocoloco is an excellent restaurant in its own category and they also serve very good beer. Not to mention the prices are very cheap and reasonable as well. The only downside that location is quite in accessible. If you are around the west area, do consider to head down to Jurong Snow City to give it a try!
